Daniel Roth

Before finding his artistic home with Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, Daniel attended Adelphi University from 1981 to 1985 where he studied theatre arts with a concentration in live performance. In the early '90s Daniel co-founded Theatre Junction, a community-based acting company in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. He worked as a guest artist and intern with BTE from 1996 until becoming a resident ensemble artist in 2000.

Recent, select BTE acting credits include: Tracy Mills in The Legend of Georgia McBride; Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz; Wilbur in Charlotte’s Web; Sims/Papa in The Nether; Friar in Romeo & Juliet; Jaques in As You Like It; Polonius in Hamlet; Thomas Jefferson in Gunpowder Joe; Marc in Art; Luther Flynn in Superior Donuts; Flotsam in The Landlover: A Pirate Musical; Dracula in Dracula; Ebenezer Scrooge in Christmas Carol, and Captain Arthur Keller in The Miracle Worker.

Directing credits include: Remembered: A Play Inspired by the Old Rosemont Cemetery by David A. Miller, with Kamryn Felty, Emily James, Dano Madden, Kali Morgia, Chelsea Soto, Chris Thorne, Reagan Venturi, and Somer Walsh; Constellations by Nick Payne; The Diary of Anne Frank by Wendy Kesselman; Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh; Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire, and Skin & Bone by Jacqueline Goldfinger.

As an instructor in BTE's Theatre School, Daniel teaches theatre classes to people from the ages of 5 through adulthood, while providing mentorship to early career professionals. As a team member in drama instruction at NCSTU, Daniel provided a creative, educational experience to adjudicated female youth assigned to this facility. He is an experienced "standardized patient:" a system of instruction for early career professionals in the medical field as they hone their skills as empathic partners to their patients. Daniel has presented at Bloomsburg University’s High School conference on Diversity since its inception.
