BTE opens its door on select mornings for school-aged groups to enjoy our special school matinees. These educational field trips are beneficial for supplementing arts education for public, private, and home schooled students.

Some shows are not appropriate for younger ages, and are marked as such.

Students, seated in BTE's seats, engage in a talkback with the actors after a show.

The Thin Place by Lucas Hnath

The Thin Place

By Lucas Hnath
September 15th - October 9th, 2022

Hilda, whose grandmother tried to train her to read minds as a child, is desperate to get in touch with the other side. She finds comfort in Linda, a mentalist who claims to know 'the thin place' that separates the living and the dead. When she confesses that it is all a trick, Hilda shows her something unbelievable. Eerie and unsettling, you'll be questioning what is real and what you've imagined by the end.

Six Characters in Search of an Author

Adapted by David A. Miller from the play by Luigi Pirandello
A Co-Production with Bloomsburg University Players
February 23rd - March 12th, 2023

Six characters, abandoned by their playwright, interrupt a theatre company's rehearsal in the hopes of finally telling the story they each carry within them. This absurdist work once caused a riot when it was first performed! Weaving together the talents of the Resident Acting Company and Theatre students from Bloomsburg University, this new adaptation asks the question: "Who decides what stories are told and by whom?"
