Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble to present 'Merry Christmas, George Bailey!' - A retelling of one of the most cherished holiday stories.

Bloomsburg – Step into another time and place for a retelling of one of America's most cherished holiday stories. Inspired by the 1947 Lux Radio Theatre Broadcast of "It's A Wonderful Life," this holiday season Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble will present Merry Christmas, George Bailey! Adapted for stage by Emeritus Ensemble Member James Goode and featuring music by William Decker, the play recreates an old time live radio show, including musical interludes, live sound effects, audience participation, and local commercials.

Directed by Elizabeth Dowd, Merry Christmas, George Bailey! runs from November 26th through December 27th. In the spirit of the giving season, admission to the show on Friday, November 26th, at 2 pm, will be one or more items of non-perishable food which will be collected and donated to Bloomsburg’s Food Cupboard. Admission to the show on Saturday, November 27th at 2 pm, is a reduced price matinee at $14 per ticket. Season tickets and subscription packages can be purchased by visiting BTE's website www.bte.org or by calling the BTE Box Office at 570-784-8181, and do not hesitate to leave a message.
