Lucas Hnath's masterful play about faith and spirituality comes to BTE’s Alvina Krause Theatre, beginning May 26th. Pastor Paul, who has spent years growing his faithful congregation from just a handful of congregants to thousands, stuns his congregation with a revelation he had at a recent conference. Shock waves course through those at his sermon and expose rifts along the faultlines. As he navigates the fallout, issues of faith, loyalty, and belief itself shift and change those around him. This heartfelt exploration of universal questions will leave audiences with thought-provoking conversations.

The Mountaintop is set in Room 306 of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis during the evening of April 3, 1968. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was staying there that night, and he would be assassinated on its balcony the following day. Playwright Katori Hall takes this historic date with destiny and weaves a powerful imagined conversation between Dr. King and Camae, a hotel maid who is more than she appears, prompting him to examine his past, his legacy, and the plight and future of African Americans.

PITTSTON, Pa. – WVIA Radio presents Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble's production of Charles Dickens's beloved story of hope and redemption, A Christmas Carol, as a special radio broadcast, Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 3pm.
The adaptation was created by long-time BTE member James Goode, who also directed the performance. Goode describes the production as a gift from the whole company. "I opened up casting to everyone in our organization — education, production, and administrative staff — and many decided to participate. Listeners will hear voices other than the actors who appear on stage at BTE in normal circumstances."
Larry Vojtko, WVIA-FM station manager, is excited to be partnering with BTE. "WVIA is thrilled to offer this unique retelling of a much-beloved Christmas story. Dickens' unforgettable characters come alive through performances by the remarkably talented members of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. The story is further enhanced by a rich aural palette that includes music and sound effects. I am so grateful that Jon White-Spunner and James Goode called me to offer this treat as a Christmas gift to the WVIA listeners."
