Project Discovery

Project Discovery is BTE's comprehensive theatre education program with a simple yet powerful mission: make sure every student from every high school in the five counties surrounding Bloomsburg attends professional performances by the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble at least once a year free of charge.

The goals of Project Discovery are simple:

• Support educators in meeting Pennsylvania art-education requirements
• Ensure that by the time they graduate from high school, every student will have attended the live performance of a play at least three times
• Help students acquire the well-rounded education essential for success in today’s world

Since 1994, thanks to the generous support of area businesses, corporations, and foundations, over 44,000 students have attended performances at Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble

Project Discovery Status

Owing to restrictions imposed as the result of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Project Discovery is on hiatus for the foreseeable future. Project Discovery performances will resume when it is safe for BTE welcome young audiences back to the Alvina Krause Theatre.
